The VMSUB pushes out a lot of pressure for its compact size. It stacks portrait or landscape. A double portrait stack is a perfect height for a side-fill system once you add a VM12-P. Or, 3 x VMSUBS stacked in a landscape format, gives you the ability to add 2 x, VM12P speakers, if your application demands that bit more. There are plenty of ways to flex your configuration. Complete phase coherence with the VM12-P makes set-up and tuning a breeze.

What Aaron says...The VMSUB is a subwoofer to meet the demands of the performer. A drummer and a DJ both want to be able to feel their music. A sub gives resonance in the body, because listening to and experiencing sound is a whole-body experience - especially when you are a musician or a dancer.
Cardioid subs are great for the monitor engineer and FOH, as it pushes all the sound to the front, but it robs the performers of the connection with the low end. Hence the need for a side fill like the VMSUB.
